Globetrotter Goodies
Preparing students for the journey. Supporting them every step of the way.
Support Beyond the Suitcase
Preparing for an international experience involves more than purchasing a plane ticket. Students must navigate travel logistics, unfamiliar environments, emotional transitions, and the challenge of being away from their support systems.
Globetrotter Goodies is Access Abroad Project’s student travel readiness and wellness program. Through practical resources, thoughtfully prepared packages, volunteer encouragement, and ongoing connection, we help students feel prepared before departure, supported while abroad, and celebrated when they return.
Students do not have to receive an Access Fund award to participate. Support may also be available to eligible students referred by partner institutions or selected through Globetrotter Goodies outreach and application opportunities.

Who Can Participate?
Globetrotter Goodies is designed for students participating in eligible international learning and service experiences, including:
Study abroad programs
International internships
Global service experiences
Research abroad
Teaching or approved educational programs abroad
Priority may be given to first-generation students, students with demonstrated financial need, and students from communities historically underrepresented in global education.
Eligible participants may include Access Fund recipients, students referred by partner institutions, and students selected through Globetrotter Goodies application or outreach opportunities.
Participation is subject to verification, available funding, inventory, shipping limitations, and program capacity.
How It Works
1. Apply or Receive a Referral
Students submit a short request form or are referred by an approved partner.
3. Tell Us What You Need
Selected students provide shipping information, preferences, restrictions, and relevant travel details.
2. Confirm the Experience
AAP verifies the student’s international program, destination, and travel dates.
4. Receive Support
AAP prepares the appropriate send-off kit, care package, resources, or combination of supports based on eligibility and availability.
*Access Fund recipients may be automatically considered for Globetrotter Goodies but may still need to complete a student preferences and shipping form.
